What Truly Endures
Reality is breaking.
I keep hearing this in articles, in podcasts, in the conversations after yoga. It surfaces when another document is unsealed, when another institution falls short of what it promised, when the headlines stack up faster than any of us can metabolize them.
Yes. What once felt solid is no longer steady.
Politically. Structurally. Culturally. Morally.
History tells the truth about seasons like this. Systems unravel. Empires fall. People in powerful positions eventually reveal their rot. It has happened again and again, and I imagine every generation living through it felt the same vertigo, the same sense that the sky might not hold.
Perhaps what is breaking is not reality itself, but the illusion that the current reality was ever stable or just. When illusions crack, it can feel like the sky is falling, even when what is falling needed to fall.
Even when the institutions that shape our lives grow unreliable, something more fundamental remains. Human decency does not depend on governments to endure. Community has never required permission from power to exist. Small groups of people have always gathered and cooperated with one another. Not because powerful systems mandated it, but because it is how humans remain human.
Human decency and community are the enduring currents running through every changing reality. Systems rise and recede, but people keep gathering, tending, cooperating. This is what has carried us through every period of upheaval we’ve ever known.
This season inside our small, beloved Perennial community is where we will practice that truth.
We’ll keep coming together so fear does not get the final word. We’ll continue to steady our nervous systems so reactivity does not define us. We’ll metabolize what is happening so we can respond rather than spiral. We’ll build capacity - physical, emotional, and relational - so our care for one another is resilient.
Staying in beloved community is how we take part in what truly endures.
This is the reality we are creating.

I’m looking forward to the embrace of our community. ❤️
